This week on Movie Picks with Alice Reese, she reviews Joy, Concussion, and The Big Short.

Joy:

Jennifer Lawrence stars in this look at the life of Joy Mangano, who launched a successful career in the home shopping industry while dealing with the complete craziness of her life. Alice really enjoyed this movie and highly recommends it.

Concussion:

Will Smith stars in this biopic about a neurologist who decided to take on the National Football League. Smith's performance and required African accent was spot on, and the rest of the cast isn't so shabby either. Alice didn't love the ending, but overall recommends this movie.

The Big Short:

Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt, Steve Carrell, Christian Bale, and quite a few other people have roles in this movie about the financial crisis of 2008. Alice says it's surprisingly a comedy most of the time, but there is a tragic ending. However, Alice still recommends it.
