Hunt County Historical Commission chairman Carol Taylor says the state historical commission has okayed a Chinese historical marker for the childhood home of Gen. Claire Chennault, on Monroe Street in Commerce.  The market will actually be written in two Chinese dialects, and will be placed alongside the existing marker in English.  It's believed the market in Chinese will be the first in Texas.  Chennault organized the "Flying Tigers" to help the Republic of China fight the Japanese prior to American involvement in World War II.
