Commerce Mayor Dr. John Ballotti says it appears a tax increase won't be necessary in 2015-16, as the City Council holds its budget workshops.  The mayor says the council is considering putting a bond issue before the voters next year that would provide the fund necessary to renovate the Commerce Public Library.  What the city hopes is the first round of renovations at the Commerce Municipal Airport is nearing completion. And Friday evening, Sept. 4, the city and Texas A&M University-Commerce are planning a luau to welcome A&M-Commerce students.
