Texas Economy Not Derailed By Downturn In Oil

Texas A&M University-Commerce economics professor Dr. Dale Funderburk reflects on recent comments by the former head of the Federal Reserve Bank of Texas Richard Fisher that the Texas economy is still very strong, despite the downturn in fortunes for the oil and gas industry.  But the economy is not nearly as good for those in rural Texas.  And Dr. Funderburk says he is confident that the Federal Reserve board will finally decide to raise interest rates this month.
