Monty Hobbs Announces Candidacy

Delta County Emergency Management Coordinator Monty Hobbs has recently announced his candidacy for Delta County Precinct 3 Commissioner. 

Hobbs stated as Commissioner, he will approach each situation in a respectful, fair and non-biased manner.

He is a retired military veteran and presently is an active member of the community serving on the board of directors for Delta County Hope House, as a member of the Cooper ISD Campus Improvement Plan, serve in a variety of ways at the First Baptist Church of Cooper and am a member of the Delta County Republican Club.

As EMC, he has recently completed the revitalization of the Delta County Civic Center into a storm shelter, procured four storm warning sirens and has brought in grants to address radio communication issues.  Currently, Hobbs is working on a reimbursement grant to recoup an estimated $225,000 in storm damage expenses in the precincts.

“I have demonstrated my ability to work with two County Judges, the Precinct Commissioners, Delta County Sheriff’s Office and a number of other offices and agencies both in the county and out to best serve the needs of the county,” said Monty Hobbs in a recent statement. “I will bring this same drive and commitment to the Office of Commissioner Precinct 3 and will appreciate your support and your vote when you go to the polls March 1, 2016 and again in November.”
