A Greenville couple charged in a 2017 animal cruelty case are now accused of trafficking children.

Jeffery and Barbara Barrett are each being held in lieu of $650,000 bail for allegedly trafficking five children between the ages of 12and 17. Police did not say what the children were trafficked for. But they are now under protective custody with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Last October the Barretts were cited for allegedly running a puppy mill that led to the seizure of more than a hundred dogs.
