Commerce Mayor Wyman Williams says the City Council received a report this week from Atmos Energy on the replacement of metal natural gas lines with more durable heavy plastic lines. The replacement of the lines will take several years, the mayor says.  Also, Mayor Williams says the City Council deadlocked on a proposal for adopting a digital system for assessing the city's streets, and so that proposal will not go forward as of now. And the mayor says work is nearly complete on the improvements at Commerce's Centennial Park including a skakeboard park and a disk-golf course.
