Hunt County Master Gardener Wayne Bowman says, even though it's so hot, it's time to start preparing fall gardening.

Wayne says be sure to clean up all debris from previous plantings. Look for a spot that gets around eight hours of direct sunlight. And consider rotating crops from year to year as farmers do. Wayne says the soil is too hot to plant most plants now, but tomatoes, beans, squash and cucumbers will be ready to plant by September 1.
