Kameron Price scores two of his 22 points Wednesday night.

The A&M-Commerce Lions put six players in double figures, led by Kameron Price’s season-high 22 points in routing Northwood, 105-75, on Wednesday night at The Field House.

The win avenges the Lions’ (9-1) only loss of the season, one that came at the hands of the Knights (2-4) on Dec. 3 in Cedar Hill. Wednesday’s game was originally scheduled to be played Monday, but was pushed back to inclement weather in North Texas area.

The 105 points was a season high for the Lions, who finished with 10 three-point buckets on the night and hit 45.1 percent from the floor; a far cry from A&M-Commerce’s 75-73 loss in Cedar Hill, a game where the A&M-Commerce struggled from the floor and from beyond the arc, hitting just one of 19 three-point tries.

Price finished with 22 points on the night, canning three three-point shots and converting all seven of his chances at the charity stripe. He also added six rebounds and three steals in 31 minutes of work.

But he wasn’t alone in the scoring column as Christian Macauley (14), Tyrie Wooten (13), Devondrick Walker (13), Kenny Brown (13) and LaDon Carnegie (11) all joined him in double figures.  Carnegie also finished with a double, pulling in a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Lions dominated the glass, 59-42, and owned the points-in-the-paint battle 44-28.

A&M-Commerce started hot, hitting each of their first four shots from the floor and did not let up on either end in the first half, converting 12 Knight turnovers into 15 points and holding Northwood to just 31.6 percent shooting to take a commanding 50-31 lead into the break.

Wooten and Carnegie were the early sparks with four points apiece in a 12-2 run that turned the Lion’s only deficit of the night at 7-6, into a 17-8 lead by the 12:30 mark. Foul shots from Brown and Daniel Embahe pushed the lead into double digits by the 10-minute mark before Macauley and Price took command, combining to score the next 10 Lion points, including a pair of dunks from Macauley.

A&M-Commerce then finished the half just as strong as it started, on a 12-2 run that ended in a pair of three-point buckets from Walker.

Price found Macauley for an alley-oop dunk on the very first possession of the second half and it took less than five minutes of play for the Lions to push the lead over the 30-point mark, using a 23-5 run to open up the half.

From there the Lions were able to cruise to the finish line, but hit seven more threes on the way in, along with a dozen of its 16 tries from the foul line. The lead got as high as 42 points on a three-pointer from Macauley from the left corner at the 9:59 mark of the period, and the Lions surpassed the 100-point barrier on a jumper from Brown in the lane with just under five minutes to play.

The Lions will look to pick up its 10th win of the season on Monday when it travels to Dallas Baptist for its second game of the season versus the Patriots. Tip time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
