No Commerce School Board Election?

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – There may be no school board election in Commerce. Only incumbents Bob McLeroy, Donna Tavener, and Russell Armstrong have filed for the three places up for election. Filing closed Monday, and unless someone files as a write-in candidate, the election for the Board of Trustees will be cancelled. The Commerce ISD will still have the $14 million bond election.

For the Commerce City Council, Hector Arce has filed for re-election in Place 1. He will face Janice Harrison and Anthony Henry in the election. For Place 3, Richard Hill will face write-in candidate Billy Reed.
