Local railroad traffic to be discussed

Greenville – Railroad traffic throughout Northeast Texas will be discussed Wednesday. The board of the Northeast Texas Rural Rail Transportation District (NETEX) is set to convene at 2 p.m. at the Hunt County Courthouse.

Agenda items include but are not limited to possible action on hiring a consultant firm, the adoption of the NETEX budget for the coming year and a discussion of legal issues related to the encroachment of property owners adjacent to the NETEX, as well as a report on operations of the Blacklands Railroad.

The Blacklands Railroad runs from Greenville through Commerce and on to the Franklin/Titus County Line.
