Wood County – Wood County Constable Ed Shadbolt has elected not to press charges against a man who attacked him and left him seriously wounded.
Shadbolt was hurt while trying to get a mental patient under control. He suffered fractured ribs among other injuries.
The constable's office is citing the man's mental illness as the reason no charges were filed.
