Hines gets ten years probation for robbery attempt

Greenville – A Commerce man has been found guilty for aggravated robbery in a holdup last year.

A jury has placed 25-year-old Eddie Charles Hines Jr. on probation for threatening to shoot and kill a man at a Commerce residence.

Hines has pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

The Jury found Hines guilty of the charges Tuesday and sentenced him Wednesday to 10 years of probation . He was facing a maximum sentenced of up to life in prison on the charge.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident in June 2009 in the 1300 block of Hunt Street.
