Greenville – The start of construction for a major power plant in Greenville has been pushed back. Work on the biomass plant could begin by this summer.
The President of Lufkin-based Aspen Power Greenville Energy LLC says the company has received its air permit for the project and final designs are currently being put together for the foundation of the facility. They're planning to build a 67 megawatt electric generating plant.
The Greenville City Council last year approved a 25 year franchise agreement for the plant.
