L3 and Greenville in dispute

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – The City of Greenville and its largest employer, L3 Communications, continue to be involved in a dispute concerning a re-plat of Majors Field Municipal Airport where L3 leases property from the city. The re-plat, which was approved earlier this month, divides the airport into four tracks instead of the one track it has been for over 20 years. L3 claims the re-plat is an attempt by the city to collect more tax money from the company, which the city denies. A public meeting concerning the issue is scheduled for 6pm Tomorrow at the Best Western.
