COMMERCE - A moment of silence was held Friday ahead of the Lion women’s basketball game in Commerce to honor Miranda Serna, a victim of last Thursday’s plane crash in Arkansas.
The Oklahoma State assistant basketball coach received a bachelor’s degree from A&M-Commerce in 1998.
Serna was riding in the plane with Head Coach Kurt Budke on a recruiting trip when the single-engine Piper went down about 45 miles west of Little Rock. The pilots, former Oklahoma State Sen. Olin Branstetter and his wife, Paula Branstetter, also died in the crash.
A native of New Mexico, Serna was in her seventh season as an assistant coach with the school.
