A man accused of torturing his former neighbor on a deer-skinning device is going to trial this week.
Jury selection will start today on Jeffery Allan Maxwell’s case. The 59-year-old faces two counts of aggravated sexual assaults and one count of aggravated kidnapping. If convicted, Maxwell faces up to life in prison. According to authorities, Maxwell abducted his ex-neighbor at gunpoint last March from her home near Weatherford, about 30 miles west of Fort Worth. He was arrested 12 days later in Corsicana, and the woman was rescued. Maxwell remains in Parker County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
