SULPHUR SPRINGS - A university instructor is the first to file for the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Board of Directors.
Suzanne Thomas Bankston filed for the position last week. She is a professor of special education at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Two incumbents on the Hospital Board, Chad Young and Jan Chapman, have indicated they will not seek re-election.
Filing for the May 12 general election continues through March 5.
