GREENVILLE - Tuesday's alleged scare tactic caused concern for some citizens and trouble for a 15-year-old boy, first spotted at 7:45 a.m. wearing a backpack that appeared to have a rifle sticking out of the top.
Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Stonewall Street where they were unable to find a white male with reddish brown hair and a beard. A person with a similar description was then reported 15 minutes later near Dalton and Edgar streets. This time near a Greenville ISD school bus.
“The bus driver saw the suspicious person and immediately drove away from the area. The area was checked and the suspicious person was not located,” a statement read.
Based on video surveillance from the bus provided to police, officers later located the suspect. He admitted to trying to scare a younger sibling.
