Campbell residents will decide on two ballot initiatives, including one regarding alcohol sales, while voters elsewhere in Hunt County will determine city council races.
Proposition 1 on the City of Campbell election ballot calls for the reauthorization of the local sales and use tax in the City of Campbell at the rate of one-fourth percent to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of local streets.
Proposition 2 on the City of Campbell election ballot calls for the legal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption only.
City Council races are also being held in the cities of Celeste, Lone Oak, Quinlan, Union Valley, and Wolfe City.
In Celeste, Fred Reynolds, James Seigler and Teddy Cole are competing for two city council seats.
Lone Oak voters will select either Mona Collins or Shirley Stogner for mayor. Gordon Galloway and Douglas E. Williams Jr. are competing for Lone Oak city council Place 5, while unopposed council candidates include Larry Osborn (Place 1) and JoAnn Klotz (Place 2).
In Quinlan, Misti (Grant) Jones and Denny Brock are running for mayor. Two city council races are contested in Quinlan. Brandon Frazier and Don Gray are running for Place 4, while Charlie Thompson and Dave Arndt will face off for Place 5. Tommy Underwood and Jacky Goleman are running unopposed for Quinlan council Place 2 and Place 3, respectively.
Union Valley will choose two city commissioners from among Craig Waskow, John Oznick and Jay Thompson. Chris Elliott is running unopposed for mayor of Union Valley.
Wolfe City voters will select either Jeff McDaniel or Barbara Woodruff for mayor. Vickie Stapp, Jamie Moore and Rita Dodson are competing for two city council places.
School board races are being conducted for the Caddo Mills, Campbell, Commerce and Lone Oak school districts.
And a handful of Hunt County voters will get a chance to participate in an election to decide whether to allow sales of alcohol in Josephine, a city which is primarily located inside Collin County.
