This summer the New Life Baptist Church Youth Group – lead by Youth Pastor Lonnie Sanders – has been hard at work.
In Fannin County, the group worked on cleaning and remodeling a Methodist church on the last week of June for one week. They spent their time putting up sheetrock and painting the church.
“I am truly blessed,” said New Life Baptist Church Pastor Larry Maynard. “We are proud of the work they are doing both here in Delta County and beyond.”
In the past week, the youth group went on a mission trip to Houston for seven days. There they participated in mowing lawns and cleaning for the elderly, remodeling a house for a young couple, and even cleaned up low-profit neighborhoods.
The main event on the mission trip was when they went to this year’s Unique Student Ministry conference hosted by Houston’s First Baptist Church, where they helped worship and set up props for the concerts. They helped serve more than 9,000 hungry souls through their ministry.
