'Poor Farm' was a reality in Hunt County

Hunt County Historical Commission chairman Carol Taylor discusses the existence of poor farms in Hunt County 100 years ago.  People and their families who could not pay their debts or were otherwise indigent were sent to the poor farms.  Carol says they came to an end after World War II.  Here is an article on poor farms in neighboring Kaufman County.
