The Cooper Independent School District Board of Trustees met for a regular meeting Monday night and opted to not fill the vacancy of member Anita Moody, who recently resigned. It would have cost $5-7,000 for a called election. With that the Board took no action.

The meeting included photo slideshows of the start of school recap.

Cooper ISD Superintendent Denicia Hohenberger presented the enrollment report as “holding strong.” Board President Thomas Darden was impressed with the attendance rates.

Darden along with Alan Beeler and Sam Bettes were nominated to the Delta County Appraisal District. These nominations will still have to be voted on by the taxing entities. Those currently serving on the Delta CAD are Beeler, Darden, Kathy Houchins, JoAnn Preas and Garth Yeager.

The 2014-15 Budget was closed out with enrollment as expected. Band and Football uniforms were received after the budget and will be amended to the new budget. The Board also accepted amendments for mulch on the playground and SAT/ACT testing supplies.

The Faculty Fish Fry will be Thursday, October 1 at 5 p.m.

The Board agreed to put property considered the “old practice field” near the bus barn up for sale.

With no closed session needs the Board adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
