Texas A&M-Commerce economics professor and interim dean of the College of Business Dr. Dale Funderburk says the 20 percent tariff on imports from Mexico floated by the Trump administration would have a severe effect on the Texas economy.  Texas and California together account for 42 percent of imports from Mexico, and Texas alone accounts for 42 percent of exports to Mexico, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.
