Dr. Karri McCreary, co-owner of the Greenville Animal Hospital, continues her recent discussion of summer pet care.  She says pet owners should be very careful about exposing pets to fireworks, which may frighten dogs or cats and cause them to run away.  And she says it's not wise to feed pets with food from summer barbecues.  Dr. McCreary says, in particular, she often performs surgery on dogs who try to eat corn on the cob, and get the cob stuck in their throats.
