Early Childhood Intervention Yields 13% Return On Investment, Economist Says

Frances Dalbey, the executive director of the Hunt County United Way, discusses the Early Childhood Intervention Services program, one of the organizations that receives United Way funding.  A University of Chicago economist, speaking recently at an event hosted by the governor of Mississippi, says a study he had done shows that early childhood intervention yields a 13 percent return on investment to the public in terms of children who otherwise would be costly to society.
