Students in Kaufman County are getting a shortened week of classes, due to a large water main break on Kaufman Tuesday afternoon. The break triggered a boil water notice and led to the Kaufman ISD canceling classes on Wednesday and Thursday.
The break happened at the intersection of Fourth and Jefferson, just a couple blocks from the ISD. The break immediately canceled after school activities Tuesday. By Wednesday afternoon, the district had canceled classes for Thursday as well.
No word on the cause of the break nor when it will be fixed.
Residents are being told to boil their water until further notice.
