Jan. 24 Morning Newscast: Human remains found in Hunt County

The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, responding to a citizen's report, found a human skull near County Road 1060 on Jan. 22.


Responding to a citizen's call on Jan. 22, Hunt County Sheriff’s deputies and investigators found what appeared to be a human skull near County Road 1060.

The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division said no other remains were located. The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Texas Rangers, will be working with the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification to determine identity, officials said.

County Road 1060 is located in the northwest unincorporated area of Hunt County, near the Wagner community. One side of CR 1060 is farmed pastures and the other side is one of the Cypress Creek Renewables solar farms.
