Fannin County Commissioners to hear comment on proposed opening of Brown Cemetery Road

Commissioners will receive public comment Tuesday morning before the Fannin County Commissioners Court's regular meeting.

  • In Fannin County, a special meeting of the Fannin County Commissioners Court has been scheduled for tomorrow morning. The purpose of the meeting is to hear comments regarding a proposal to open Brown Cemetery Road in Bonham. North Texas E-News reports the meeting can be attended by Zoom for those who wish to participate but are unable to attend in person. The meeting regarding Brown Cemetery Road is scheduled for 8:50 Tuesday morning and will be followed by the regular meeting of the Fannin County Commissioners Court, during which the commissioners are expected to decide whether to open Brown Cemetery Road.
  • In Red River County, Clarksville residents are under a boil water notice. The Paris News reports Clarksville’s water systems were affected by a water main break near south Vine Street in Clarksville. No timeline for the lifting of the boil notice has been published. Clarksville had to issue a similar boil water notice in July due to another water main break.
  • Fire danger across northeast Texas today ranges from moderate to high to very high, with areas south of the North Sulphur River having the highest risk, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service. Much of the region remains in drought. Burn bans remain in effect in Fannin, Grayson, Collin, and Rockwall counties.
