An initiative led by Texas A&M University-Commerce is working to improve the quality of mental health care services in Northeast Texas. Yesterday in Greenville, more than 150 professionals from across the region attended a day-long forum at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center. The event was hosted by the A&M-Commerce Counseling Center and the Department of Health and Human Performance. The day began with an address from Oak Cliff community activist Taylor Toynes. That was followed by a panel discussion and finally workshop sessions. The event was attended by elected officials, educators, and law enforcement, as well as mental health care providers.
