Hunt County Shared Ministries

Wally Jeffers, executive director of Hunt County Shared Ministries, also known as FISH, says the organization does much more than provide food to those in need. FISH also provides assistance for rent and utility payments, help in receiving vaccinations, and in other ways.

The organization will start receiving applications for Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets on October 1. Jeffers says "FISH," as far as he's concerned, stands for "Faith Invested in Sharing Hope."

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
