Fannin County Records First COVID-19 Death

A 78-year-old man who lived in southern Fannin County has died as a result of COVID-19, according to a Wednesday release from the local health authority. The death marks the first coronavirus-related fatality in Fannin County.

The release said the man lived near Ladonia, but “well outside of the Ladonia city limits.” The date of the man’s death was not given, but the “Last Date of Home Isolation” was listed as May 2. No other information was given.

Fannin County currently has 22 diagnosed cases of COVID-19, according to state data.
