  • Luke visits this week with his friend Samuel Old from Virginia. These two old friends discuss the differences between hunting in Virginia and Texas. Samuel has lived on the same piece of intensely managed property his grandfather raised his family on. The old farmhouse has been remodeled into a modern getaway, situated right on the banks of Craig Creek.

  • Mary Walker Clark is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston Law School. She practiced law in Paris, Texas for 29 years before retiring to pursue her lifelong passion for traveling. Besides writing a travel column for the Paris News, Mary maintains her travel blog, MaryClarkTraveler.com, and spends hours planning the next trip. Her interest in public speaking led her to radio with its magical ability to promote storytelling without all of the visuals. Through her experiences and words, Mary takes you with her to Vietnam, New Zealand, Guatemala, Tunisia, and many other countries as well destinations in Northeast Texas and the United States.
  • Jalinna James Jones is a seasoned public relations and marketing communications professional, and currently serves on numerous boards including the Commerce Public Library, the Northeast Texas Children’s Museum, the Commerce Office of Cultural Affairs, and the Commerce Chamber of Commerce. She is the current president of the Commerce Rotary Club, and is involved with several civic organizations including the Louise Drake Garden Club and the Thalian Culture Club.
  • Natalie came to the station in 2013. She moved to the Northwoods from Providence, Rhode Island where she worked at Rhode Island Public Radio. She studied Environmental Studies at Brown University, and learned radio production at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.
  • Evie Stone is the Supervising Editor at Weekend Edition. She collaborates with show staff and newsroom colleagues to ensure that Weekend Edition covers essential news, tells human stories and occasionally makes the audience bark with laughter.
  • Carline Watson is the Talent Development Manager for NPR News and Programming. In this role, she is the primary day-to-day point person for temporary staff in the News and Programming division at NPR.
  • Gilman Halsted is the Criminal Justice reporter in Madison. He covers the courts and the prison system also writes and produces general assignment stories for the daily state newscasts.
  • Nicole Beemsterboer is the Senior Producer of Investigations at NPR, where she oversees the conceptualization, development, and execution of the network's investigative reporting across all platforms and coordinates the team's internal and external news partnerships.
