  • The Texas Legislature is drawing new Congressional maps for the state. There’s a chance that most of Hunt County will leave the 4th U.S. Congressional District. Far southern Hunt County would stay in the 4th, but most of the county – including Greenville and Commerce would move over to the 3rd Congressional District, along with most of Collin County. That district is currently represented in Congress by Van Taylor, who’s held the office since 2019. The Texas House Redistricting Committee is holding a hearing on the proposed map tomorrow morning, beginning at 10.
  • The Texas Legislature is nearing a final vote on the distribution of COVID-19 relief funds from the U.S. government.
  • A weather system affecting the South Central U.S. is expected to bring heavy rainfall to Northeast Texas starting tomorrow. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch beginning 7 a.m. Wednesday through 7 p.m. Thursday.
