Caddo Mills Police Chief fired amid controversy

By Kevin Jefferies

Caddo Mills – The Chief of Police for Caddo Mills has been fired amid controversy. Former Chief Andy Lowen was terminated earlier this month after Hunt County DA F. Duncan Thomas and county attorney Joel Littlefield informed Caddo Mills city officials that all criminal proceedings would be suspended until information about disciplinary action taken against Lowen while he was employed by the Garland Police Department could be verified. Lowen was later terminated as police chief. Lowen alleges he was fired because some of his officers issued citation to friends and family of Caddo Mills city council members, and threatened a lawsuit if he was not allowed to appeal the decision.
