Hunt County Courthouse to test new security equipment

By Kevin Jefferies

Greenville – The Hunt County Courthouse will soon test a new security measure intended to detect weapons and other contraband. The device from View Security Systems looks like a standard metal detector, but will work faster and provide a visual location of any concealed weapons. It also takes and archives pictures of every person passing through.

A plan to limit access to the courthouse is also underway. Eventually, public traffic will only enter and exit through the Lee Street entrance where a security guard will be stationed.
