Judge blocks pipeline from passing through local farm

PARIS - A Lamar County family fighting to block the TransCanada pipeline from crossing their farm finally got their wish.

Earlier this week, Julia Trigg Crawford went to the public to express her frustration over her family's four year battle with TransCanada.

Crawford got that chance from local judge Bill Harris, who granted her family a court order to block the TransCanada pipeline from their 600 acre farm along the red river.

Another hearing between all the parties is now scheduled for this Friday at 10 a.m.

Members of the environmental group STOP (Stop Tar Sands Oil Pipeline), based in Northeast Texas, tell KETR they plan to show that morning at the Lamar County Courthouse in support of Crawford.
