Loyce Junior Gassaway found guilty of reckless endangerment

Greenville – 52 year old Loyce Junior Gassaway has been found guilty of recklessly endangering two Commerce police officers. A punishment hearing has been scheduled for May 12th after the Hopkins County man was guilty of deadly conduct and evading arrest. Gassaway was originally indicted for two counts of aggravated assault against a peace officer and the evading count when he ended a chase out of Delta County on Lee Street in Commerce, and allegedly attempted to run down two Commerce police officers, forcing them to open fire to bring Gassaway's vehicle to a stop.
