Life sentence given in local murder case

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – A life sentence is handed down in a Hunt County murder case. Christi Denice King of Greenville, convicted of murder involving the drowning death of her infant son, was sentenced Monday to life in prison. King took the witness stand for the first time Monday, again denying she deliberately killed her son. A jury took only 25 minutes on Aug. 6 to return with a guilty verdict on a charge of murder, following a two-day trial. Her son died in January 2006 after drowning in the bathtub of the apartment where King was staying.
