Death penatly sought in Hunt County murder case

By Brad Kellar

Hunt County – A death penalty is being sought in a Hunt County capitol murder case. Prosecutors have announced they will seek death by lethal injection for John William Trotman III, of Mesquite, should he be convicted of murder. Trottman has been indicted on a charge of capital murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in Greenville last year. A trial date has not been scheduled in the case, although an interim hearing is set for Feb. 2, 2009. Trotman remains in custody at the Hunt County Jail in lieu of $1 million bond on a charge of capital murder for the November, 2007 death of Ryon Rhoden of Greenville. Trotman has pleaded not guilty.
