Woman remains jailed in alleged N. Texas theft ring

By Brad Kellar

Commerce – An Irving woman remains in custody in connection to an alleged theft ring that recently targeted the Commerce Wal-Mart.

Hillary Lynn Clark is one of three people alleged to have been part of a shoplifting ring that targeted stores across North Texas. During a Tuesday hearing, her bond was reduced from $17,500 to $5,000 cash. She's charged with theft and engaging in organized crime.

The reported theft in Commerce occurred on August 17. The car in which the three were riding reportedly held a receipt printer and bar code scanner which allowed the suspects to create false receipts for stolen merchandise and return the items for cash.
