Reward increased for information on fatal hit and run

Kaufman County – Authorities have increased the reward amount for information leading to the driver in a hit-and-run crash in July that killed a 20-year-old Kaufman man.

Brandon Pate Simmons was walking on FM 429 about 5 a.m. on July 10 when he was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle that left the scene.

The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office is offering $1,000, plus $1,500 is being offered from A Box Paper Company.

Information about the wreck, location of the vehicle or who might have been driving it is urged to call DPS at 972-551-6040.
