– Reports are showing a bulk of Northeast Texas received approximately 11 inches of snow Friday, marking the heaviest snowfall in years and of all time in some locations. Areas off to the north and west of the Metroplex reportedly had even more snowfall.
Residents are advised to use extreme caution when traveling today, as area roadways are wet. However with temperatures near or above freezing there is not as much ice accumulation as feared. County roads and Farm-to-Market roads could be more treacherous, as they are less traveled.
As of early Friday morning, the Department of Public safety was reporting no major road closures or accidents.
