Greenville – A new trial is sought for a Hunt County man, sentenced to life in prison for molesting children.
Eduardo Para's attorney claims he should have been found mentally incompetent to stand trial in January.
A hearing date concerning the motion had not been scheduled as of last week.
Para, of West Tawakoni, was convicted following a two day trial on one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child by contact.
The jury deliberated approximately one hour before returning their guilty verdicts. He was given life sentences for each offense, which are said to have occurred in July 2008.
