Greenville – The City of Greenville has been awarded a $400,000 grant to go toward environmental assessments and the redevelopment of potentially contaminated sites.
$200,000 will be used for petroleum assessments and $200,000 will be used for hazardous materials assessments including asbestos.
Greenville is one of seven entities in Texas with whom the EPA awarded the grant for FY 2010. The environmental grant also marks the third such approval for the city since 2001.
