Commerce assault subject enters another plea

Greenville – An Eastland County man charged in a Commerce aggravated assault entered another not guilty plea in the case Thursday.

The latest indictment for James Christopher Simpson charges him with assault causing bodily injury family violence.

A tentative trial date was set for September 13 on all three of the charges Simpson is now facing.

He's also pleaded not guilty to two separate charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing bodily injury. The incidents stem from attacks on a female victim in March and July 2009.
