More lane closures begin Monday on I-30

By Scott Harvey

Rockwall County – More lane closures are expected along Interstate 30 beginning Monday.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced plans for a resurfacing project which will reduce the Interstate's main lanes down to one.

The closure will start on the eastbound lanes at the Rockwall County line and extend eastward for approximately six miles during daytime hours. An overnight lane closure will remain in place for a length of approximately three miles.

Work is expected to continue through the end of June.

The project is the last phase of an ongoing 13-mile long highway improvement project between the Rockwall County line and Farm-To-Market Road 1570.

Drivers are asking to be cautious while traveling in the area.
