West Tawakoni – An investigation is underway into a reported kidnapping Monday in Hunt County. A 54-year-old man remained in jail as of Tuesday, awaiting arraignment on a charge of aggravated kidnapping.
The Sheriff's Office says the incident stemmed from an armed abduction near West Tawakoni on Monday.
Officials say a female had reported being assaulted and held against her will Sunday at an address along Running Bear Road. The victim reported being duct taped to a chair, assaulted repeatedly and threatened with a gun.
She would then manage to free herself and run to neighbors to summon help.
