– There's already a call to get ready for going back to school. School just let out for the summer which means it's the perfect time to get ready to go back when it comes to getting required vaccines.

Dr. Paul McGaha is with the State Health Department office in Tyler. He says they're trying to avoid an end of summer crush.

"It is not too early," McGaha said. "We really encourage parents and caregivers to get those immunizations for children as we don't like the August rush we get. We'll take care of that but it's so much better if parents can get their children vaccinated early."

If you need to know what shots to get call your doctor or check the State Health Department's website.
