Sulphur Springs – Under a new ordinance approved Tuesday, parking on Houston Street in Sulphur Springs will be prohibited Monday through Friday.
The City Council must approve a second reading before the law takes effect.
Council had originally planned to discuss no parking between 8 a.m. 5 p.m. on weekdays, but instead voted to restrict parking during the entire week.
The City recently finished the second of two phases of Houston Street, which included rebuilding the road and replacing all underground drainage and pipes, plus added sidewalks.
